George Hoare is a writer based in London. His books include An Introduction to Antonio Gramsci: His Life, Thought and Legacy (second edition Bloomsbury, 2025; with Nathan Sperber), Taking Control: Sovereignty and Democracy after Brexit (Polity, 2023; with Philip Cunliffe, Lee Jones, and Peter Ramsay), and The End of the End of History: Politics in the Twenty-First Century (Zero Books, 2021; with Alex Hochuli and Philip Cunliffe). His writing has appeared in the Times Literary Supplement, Jacobin, Café Américain, The Northern Star, Damage, Compact, Sublation, and elsewhere, and has been translated into German, Italian, Turkish, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, and Mandarin. He is the co-host of the Bungacast global politics podcast and holds a doctorate in Political Thought from Nuffield College, Oxford.
